Berrada tells John that there’s an opportunity to find the Elder wandering through the desert until his legs hinder him from moving. Berrada gives Sofia one of his dogs in exchange. Berrada shoots Sofia when she doesn’t take the dog. The bulletproof vest of the dog is able to keep it safe. Sofia is determined to murder Berrada however John warns her. The two travel through the Kasbah before driving through the desert. Zero and the Judge confront John seven days later. John refuses to abdicate . In response Zero’s pupils massacre his soldiers as the King is slashed seven time by a wakizashi as a way of paying tribute. As a result, John falls unconscious in the desert. He is then taken to the Elder who inquires as to why he is there; John states that he would like to be remembered of the love he once shared with his wife. [N 2[N2] ] Elder will accept John’s sins in exchange for the killing of Winston. John then gives his wedding band back to the Elder.
Zero and his students attack John when he returns back to New York. Zero then protects John. The Adjudicator is also present, but Winston refuses to accept the demise of Zero and his pupils. The judge decides to dismantle the Continental from neutrality and send Zero as well as an army of that is heavily armoured High Table enforcers after John and Winston are killed. John receives weapons and assistance from Charon and his staff by Winston. John takes out all the enforcers and is then attacked and ambushed by Zero and his pupils. John is killed by all his students but two of them accept the on the honorable side.
John arrives at the scene, and Winston takes care to shoot him without harming him, but it causes him to fall off the top of the building. Winston assumes the role of the manager. The seriously wounded John is taken into secret and is taken to the wounded Bowery King, who is in a bunker underground. They decide to join forces against the High Table.
